Research has shown that a camping trip is a great time for family bonding. Campers can leave all of the electronics we have come to depend on for entertainment at home and learn to spend time with our families once again.
While a camping trip can be a lot of work it can also be a lot of fun. Cooking over a campfire or even with a camp stove is quite different than using the microwave at home. The results may be quite different than the microwave stuff you cook at home. Maybe you will discover you really like the taste of food that is cooked over a real fire. Since there is not a dishwasher, you will have to wash some dishes by hand even if you choose to use disposable forks and plates.
There will be plenty of time for nature walks while camping. Take time to enjoy all the nature walks and talks by the ranger. Look for wildlife that strolls through your campsite. Stop and smell the wild flowers along the way. Make the most of the time that you have together as a family.
In the evenings after dinner you can play family games by the lantern light or someone can pull out a guitar and your campsite can lead the campground in your favorite campfire songs.
If this sounds like a great time for you, then stop reading this article right now and go make your campsite reservations before they are all gone. Do not waste any more time.
Now for the rest of you. I am glad you stayed while we weeded those people out. If you have made it this far, here is great news. Do not leave the electronics at home. You need your stuff. Pay a little extra for a campsite with electrical hookups to keep everything charged. Check at the campsite to see if cable television is available and bring a small set. Insist that your sight have wifi available so that you can stay connected with the rest or the world.
When that you hear the first group walking by on their nature walk, quickly stash everything in the tent, use a stick to poke at your campfire, smile and wave. They will keep going and you can get back to life.
